Walking Stick

A friend of mine found a peculiar looking insect called a "walking stick". Upon seeing one, you can understand how it got its name. Although walking sticks are common, they are not commonly seen because they usually blend in very well with their environment.

Stick insects live primarily in woods and grassy areas where they feed on leaves. They are mainly nocturnal and spend much of their day motionless, hidden under plants.

An interesting fact pertaining to the walking stick is that is has the rare ability to regenerate lost limbs. Because they are easy to maintain, some people like to keep them as pets.
